Standing proud on Fremantle’s historic High Street, the Fremantle Buffalo Club is more than just a venue – it’s a community. A place where music resonates through vintage halls, where stories are shared over drinks, and where creativity finds a home.
Run by passionate volunteers, the Club embodies a spirit of collaboration and belonging. It’s a members-owned haven, built for people, not profit.
We’re thrilled to share that we’ve recently invested in making the Club even better for performers:
A Brand-New Stage in the Lower Bar: Measuring 3.4m x 4.3m, our larger, freshly built stage offers more room for your music to take center stage.
A New Green Room: We’ve added a dedicated space for artists to relax before stepping into the spotlight.
Why Play at the Buffalo Club?
- An Atmosphere Like No Other: The Buff has existed for 85 years, and she doesn't hide her history. The space is as unique, colourful and eccentric as her clientele.
- Affordable and Accessible: Booking fees remain low – $150+GST for members, $300+GST for non-members – and membership is easy to obtain at just $50 annually.
- A Prime Location: In the heart of Fremantle’s thriving music scene, we’re close to Perth and just a short walk from several public transport options.
- A Supportive Community: As a volunteer-driven club, we’re here to support your event, from setup to promotion.
Our Spaces:
- The Upper Hall: A former dance hall, this 195-capacity room with a 3.6m x 3.6m stage is ideal for larger, electrifying performances.
- The Lower Bar: Now featuring the new larger stage, this 175-capacity, wheelchair-accessible space is perfect for mid-sized gigs and includes our full bar.
- The Ladies Lounge: A cozy space with a low stage and a large window facing High Street. Ideal for intimate music performances, poetry readings, and DJ sets.

Attached, you’ll find a copy of our updated booking terms document, which contains important information about booking a show at our Club.
If this sounds like the kind of space where your music belongs, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re planning a cozy performance, a high-energy showcase, or something in between, let’s make it happen at the Fremantle Buffalo Club.
