One of Fremantle's shortest streets, Edward Street runs from the intersection of Adelaide/Queen Victoria/Parry, downhill to the point where Beach Street and Elder Place join (where Captain Munchies is).
On the north-east side of the street the most prominent building is the Australia Hotel. Next to that is the Biggin and Ayrton building.
On the south-west side the wall of Princess May Park (and Fremantle Girls' School) occupies the block between Adelaide and Cantonment streets, with a c.2010 residential apartment building on the next block west (it replaced the north-eastern end of the Elders Woolstores, which were demolished).
