The Precincts (or Precinct Groups) of the City of Fremantle are community-run groups of residents.

From the council's page:[1]

Precinct groups are run by community members to offer opportunities for information sharing and engagement on local issues.

Precinct group meetings are open forums where any community member can attend and engage on a range of community issues. Many groups also run fun activities with the aim of building local community connections.

As an open and consultative local government, the City of Fremantle supports precinct groups, to encourage any community member to participate and take an active role in providing input into the operations of the local government.

There are eleven precinct groups:

  1. Arts Centre Precinct
  2. Fremantle Inner City Residents Association (FICRA)
  3. Hilton Precinct
  4. O'Connor Precinct
  5. South City Precinct
  6. White Gum Valley Precinct
  7. Beaconsfield Precinct
  8. Gibson Park Precinct
  9. North Fremantle Community Association (NFCA)
  10. Samson Precinct
  11. South Fremantle Precinct

The Fremantle Society has also at times been listed as a separate non-geographical precinct.

The council set up a series of blogs for the precincts in 2011, called Freospace. These were discontinued sometime before 2020.
