Joseph Hunter was born in 1812 in York, England.

John Henry b. 1859, John Henry b. 1864. He was indentured as a shepherd with Lautour's agent Wells. Later went into partnership with George Oliver & R. Kersley - dissolved 1847. He was then in partnership with Matthew Oliver & this was dissolved 3.1.1859 (I) possibly at time of his marriage. Listed in York Census 1859 as a well estab. farmer.

In the 1832 census, he is 25, from Sussex, brought by Lautour.

In the 1837 census, he is single, a shepherd on Joseph Harris's farm at William River.
