Assembly of God
The building of the former Assembly of God church still stands at 58 Hope Street, corner of Wiluna Avenue, which it faces (in terms of the main, east door).
The foundation stone (to the right of the door) can still be read.
THIS STONE WAS LAID TO THE GLORY OF GOD BY MRS ANNE MacKENZIE. 10TH APRIL 1960. MINISTER REV. L.W. SMITH
This 1979 photo (thanks to the Fremantle Library) shows a wooden hall to the north of the church building. In 2019 the block is vacant, apart from the church and the ruinous toilet outhouses. In 2023, there is only the church left.
Now it's hard to imagine the hall there. ... After I took this photo in 2015, a number of bricks were removed near the back door (2016). But in 2019 the fabric has been repaired.
