Death Ends A Long Service To Hospitals
Mr. Charles ("Curly") Molyneux, of Hampton-road, Beaconsfield, who was well known for his welfare work in hospitals at Fremantle and at the Sunset Home, died suddenly at his home yesterday.
For more than 30 years Mr. Molyneux visited the Fremantle Hospital two nights a week and once every Saturday or Sun day.
He called at the hospital on Sunday—the last of more than 5000 visits to inmates.
In the last New Year's honours list he was awarded the M.B.E. in recognition of his work. In April, 1949, a memorial to his work was unveiled at the Fremantle Hospital by the then Governor (Sir James Mitchell).
It was installed in the out patient hall of the hospital by members of the Royal and Ancient Order of Buffaloes—a society in which he held high office.
He is buried at Fremantle Cemetery (Methodist Mon B4, 83; -32.0521463°, 115.7827583°), where his wife was also buried in 1967. Their gravestone reads:
