Workshop Lane is a short pedestrian area connecting Slip Street and Victoria Quay, between the main block of Fremantle Ports workshop buildings and the separate building at the western end (part of which houses the Engine Museum, and c.1999 the Wooden Boat Works).
The lane was named in about 2023, when the fence at the northern end was removed, and the space used for events such as during the Slip Street Carnival when it held "a South American-style sundowner street party, featuring music, food and entertainment […] Fremantle Ports chief executive Michael Parker said the event would make use of a much loved but often “overlooked” part of the Quay’s west end precinct."[1]
