The Western Australian Heritage Awards are given annually to people and organisations that have made significant contributions to heritage in Western Australia. Many Fremantle places, people, and organisations have, over the years, received or at least been nominated for an Award.

Fremantle Society Committee representatives with the award for outstanding contribution to heritage by a community-based organisation.
  • CATEGORY 1 - Outstanding contribution to heritage by an individual: John Dowson.
  • CATEGORY 2 - Outstanding contribution to heritage by an individual in the heritage industry: Alan Kelsall.
  • CATEGORY 3 - Outstanding contribution to heritage by a community-based organisation: Fremantle Society (winner).
  • CATEGORY 4 - Outstanding contribution to heritage by a public or private organisation: Fremantle Prison.
  • CATEGORY 5 - Outstanding heritage practices by a local government agency: City of Fremantle.
  • CATEGORY 7 - Outstanding conservation of a non-residential place: Fremantle Prison, Commissariat Building, Strelitz Building, Passenger Terminal, and B-Shed Ferry Terminal.
  • CATEGORY 8 - Outstanding interpretation project that enhances a place: Fremantle Prison's "Key to knowledge convict history program".
  • CATEGORY 9 - Outstanding heritage tourism product: Fremantle Prison (winner).
  • CATEGORY 10 - Excellence in Adaptive Reuse: The Gerry Gauntlett Award: Fremantle PortsB-Shed Ferry Terminal.
