The Original town lots were surveyed by J.S. Roe in 1829.

Market Street, northern corner with Short Street.

The first owner of Lot 143 noted by Hitchcock (1929) was John Thomas.

This Lot and the adjacent Town Lot 144 on the corner of Phillimore Street are currently vacant, being part of Pioneer Park. Before that, in early 20C, there were shops on these two lots. (It's possible they were both on Lot 143. It's hard for me to tell.)

These shops in Market Street used to be on the northern corner with Short Street. Where they stood is now part of Pioneer Park.
