The works, c.1920, by Arthur Saxon.[1]

The Fremantle Smelting Works were built in 1898:[2]

These are situated a mile or so south of Fremantle facing the sea, and in addition to the railway a jetty will be built to enable ore to be landed at the smelter s direct, but for the present it will be delivered into trucks at the Fremantle wharves and trucked to the smelters.

"About 400 people were employed and the Smelters used 1000 tons of coal per month."[1]

Closed in 1921 due to the closure of the Surprise mine at Ajana, Northampton.[3]
