Mazenod College
Mazenod College, Lesmurdie, opened in 1966, takes its name from Eugene de Mazenod, who in 1816 founded the Religious Congregation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI). The Oblates arrived in Fremantle in 1894. They are responsible for the St Patrick's parish, including the Basilica. There are four OMI schools in Australia: two Mazenod Colleges, one in Mulgrave, Vic., and another two OMI schools: Iona College and St Eugene College, both in Brisbane.
