Peter Hardy died while swimming in the ocean at South Fremantle Thursday 16 March 2023, aged 66. Resident in the UK, in the London area, he was in his native Perth for the 98th birthday of his mother Joy, a former primary schoolteacher. In Facebook he called her 'Big Joy'.
He was an actor who described himself on his Facebook page as: 'Actorist. Narrowboater. Eye. Noisemaker. Equal parts whimsy & ranty.'
Personal note from Garry Gillard:
I had my very first practice teaching experience in Joy Hardy's classroom, in Doubleview in February 1961. About ten years later, her son was in my own classroom at Christ Church Grammar School.
