Barrington Wood
Barrington Clarke Wood (1850-1903) was the first Mayor of the Municipality of Fremantle.

Barrington Clarke Wood was born in Fremantle and died August 25th 1903 in Mandurah. He was a member of the Fremantle Town Council in 1875 and Mayor 1883-1885. In 1887 he was a J.P. and in 1888 moved to Perth and opened an auctioneers and land agency. He was Member for West Perth [of the Legislative Assembly] from 1894 to 1901 and appointed Commissioner for Railways and Director of Public Works in September 1900. In June 1901 he contested West Kimberley and from May 1902 to August 1903 was MLC for Metropolitan-Suburban Province.
