John Lort Stokes
Lt John Lort Stokes RN, was on officer on HMS Beagle. He was on the Beagle when it surveyed the WA coast. Roe gave him two placenames: Stokes Inlet and Lort River. While here, he visited George Moore, as Moore mentions in his Diary. He was later promoted Admiral.
