Jack Sheedy

Jack Sheedy (1926-2023) was a former Australian Rules footballer and coach. He played for East Fremantle and East Perth in the Western Australian National Football League [now WAFL] and South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League. Sheedy attended [[../schools/index.html|Richmond State School]] in East Fremantle and [[../schools/boysschool.html|Fremantle Boys School]] in Fremantle, captaining both schools' football teams. He worked as a clerk at the Fremantle Harbour Trust (now [[../port/admin.html|Fremantle Ports]]). The Tradewinds Hotel was once known as Jack Sheedy's [[../hotels/plympton.html|Plympton Hotel]].

Jack Sheedy died in 2023. With the announcement, Peter Grigg put this 2004 photo in Facebook. The men are standing on the footpath outside the Fremantle Hotel in High Street.
