W.O Mason was an organist, choirmaster and pianist, who also organised entertainments held in places such as the Asylum, St. Patrick's Hall, the Sailors' Rest, Victoria Hall, and the Town Hall. He played the organ and directed the choir in St Patrick's Church, but also played the Johnston Memorial Congregational Church organ when required. He was born in Birmingham.

MASON.- On December 11, at his late residence, 30 Barnett-street, Fremantle, Wallis Oliver son of the late James Oliver Mason, formerly of The Crescent, Birmingham, aged 69 years. London Evening Standard please copy.
It is unlikely he was related to Frederick Mason, a North Fremantle property-owner who built Mason's Hall, as that Mason was transported.
From the Ausstage page assembled by Sean Weatherly, here is a representative selection of Fremantle events in which Mason participated.
