The last sentence is missing from the scan. It reads: "And she didn't need urging."
The note in her mother's handwriting around the story is not completely decipherable. It reads: "Photo taken for mail [Mail? a newspaper?] before she went to London the first time. its a custard tart Tean [Teen, Christina Bennett Robertson, her aunt, my grandmother] she wanted. she used to write in her letters from London about it 6 eggs & a pint of milk 4 [indecipherable] of custard made her them & she [indecipherable] it X"
