Masons Gardens
Frederick Mason bought a large property including some swampy land on the northern border of what is now the suburb of Dalkeith. It is thought that Mason bought the land for his eldest sons Charles Henry May/Mason (b. 1871) and Frederick May/Mason (b. 1872). It was a fruit orchard and then a major market garden, second in importance only to Gallop's. It is now a public park.
