Fred Jones Reserve is a park in Melville, on Canning Highway where Carrington Street meets it. It is named after an old ratepayer who personally maintained the Reserve for many years. The late Mr Jones was a keen gardener who sought Council permission to develop and maintain the Reserve, which was later named in his honour. (Melville Council text) The name was approved 14 August 1983 and gazetted 6 April 1984.
