Lady Forrest

Lady Forrest in about 1924.

Lady Forrest was a pilot boat in use by Fremantle pilots from 1903 to 1967. She was named after Margaret Forrest (wife of the Premier), and was replaced by Lady Gairdner.

THE LADY FORREST.

PILOT BOAT'S FIRST TRIP

The new pilot steamer Lady Forrest made her first trip to-day. This morning at 10.45 Captain Irvine, Mr Rumage, and pilots Tait, Cleary, and Morrison boarded the Lady Forrest as she lay with a full head of steam at Victoria Quay, and shortly afterwards the little craft steamed for Rottnest. As she cut through the water she looked exceedingly serviceable and rode the sea like a gull.

Another trial will be made either this afternoon or on Monday, when the Colonial Secretary, Hon. W. Kingsmill, and the members of the Harbor Trust will be on board.
