Kate Hulett is a photographer, writer, businesswomen, and artist who has worked with Fremantle Biennale, Spacemarket, Fremantle Design Week, MANY, etc.

Alongside her retail business (Kate and Abel), Hulett has worked with organisations including Spacemarket, the Fremantle Biennale, Fremantle Design Week, Falls Festival and Lawson Flats.
Hulett has exhibited twice in Sculpture by the Sea (2020, 2021), has been a part of the Joondalup Festival visual arts program (2022, 2023), and has won first prize in the Perth Centre of Photography IRIS Award for portraiture (2019). She has been a finalist in the PCP IRIS awards in 2021, 2019, 2018, and the PCP CLIP awards in 2022, 2020 and 2018.
Hulett has been selected in numerous group shows locally, nationally and internationally, including exhibiting as a finalist in various award shows, and has also dipped her toe into curation. Her work has been collected by various collections, and in 2023, she judged the Perth Centre of Photography IRIS Award.
Her work is interested in the surprising amongst the mundane. With a deep curiosity in people, humanity and the frivolity of life (Hulett holds a BPsych), her works often feature irony, wit and humour to soften and connect with the viewer.
She has a keen interest in environmental and social justice, and generating a sense of pride and connection within the community. Her work orientates around the bigger picture, and investigates actions that will improve our lived environment in the hope to inform a brighter future.
In 2025 she stood as an independent candidate for the state seat of Fremantle (held by Simone McGurk). Roel writes: "Kate has a strong support base and has been involved in many things in Fremantle. She is very community and environmentally minded and is an outspoken advocate for social justice."[2]
