After migrating to Australia with family from the UK at the age of 14. JJ Paterson embarked on the school of life. Eventually becoming involved in the offshore gas industry, employed as a pile barge forman,commercial diver. licenced rigger and crane operator. With enough money saved, quit the offshore work to realize a long held goal when JJ bought an lconic local music bar and became a publican. Unfortunately years later the sale of the bar dissolved into a protracted legal nightmare.Then fate threw a curved ball . With little cash and few options, JJ accepted a job as dellivery crew on a Yacht .Singapore ,bound for West Australia. In doing so he unowingly became part of a 200 year old reacurring twist of fate. Directly linked to two ancestors centuries apart with exactly the same family name,both suffered the same tragic demise in the same part of the Atlantic Ocean.Lukily for jj he survived his near fatal ordeal in the Indian Ocean.South of the Cocos Keeling Islands.
