Appointed Sheriff at Perth 1833 & Registrar General of WA 1841. Resigned 1854 when appointed Advocate General 1854-6. Bt. Perth Town Lots in 1850, 1856 & 1857. He was Vice Pres. of Swan River Mechanics Inst. 1856, Director of WA Bank, Pres. of Perth Building Fund 1864. He employed 3 T/L men 1854, 1855 & 1859. His wife & dtr. went overseas via Sourabaya 9.10.1852 per Swan & returned via SA 4.2.1853 per Adelaide. Commemorated in 1979 in a brass plaque in Perth pavement for year 1836. C/E.
