Fremantle railway marshalling yards occurred in various stages
The connection with the wharf side railway lines was on both sides of the harbour
Higher view points of the yard show the change on the Victoria quay side:
before the moving of the Railway Workshops to Midland in 1904
after the re-arrangement of the lines in 1907 when the East Fremantle railway station was removed
some high point views of the yard in the 1920s show the changes
the general fullest extent of the yard in the 1960s is seen in aerial photos of the harbour during ship visits
the rationalisation of the space and yard is evident in the 2000s with no rail connections on the Victoria Quay area
