Frederick Hollis was the manager of The Union Stores Ltd, and a Fremantle town councillor. Hollis Park and Hollis Street are named after him.

Hollis was born in Nottinghamshire, England, in 1863. He emigrated to Australia in about 1881, initially to South Australia for three years.

He was elected as a councillor for the Municipality of Fremantle on 31 August 1927. In 1886 he helped form the Rowing Club (he rowed the scull, and pairs and fours).

He married Rachael Bateman and their daughter Rachel Harriett Hollis was born in 1896.[1]

He died unexpectedly in the evening of Tuesday 30 July 1935, at his home in Claremont.[2]
