Edward
The Prince of Wales visited in 1920. He was later King Edward VIII, but only for a few months in 1936 before he abdicated. He was then known as Duke of Windsor.
The most notable event of the year was the visit of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. His reception was most enthusiastic, and wherever he travelled throughout the municipality vast crowds assembled to bid him welcome. Hitchcock: 83.
