Elizabeth Gamble arrived on the Parmelia in June 1829, employed as a servant to the Drummond family.[1] A child of hers died as a baby in a hut fire in 1830. On 15 September 1841 (at which point she was still employed by the Drummonds) she won £5 for being the "best female servant".
Berryman gives her origin as Cork.[2]
