Carl Edwards was the manager of the WA Symphony Orchestra and a producer with the ABC. He grew up in Fremantle in the 1950s, and in 2010 published his memoir about that time: Giant Lettered Sheds.

He and his family moved into Phillimore Chambers in 1948. His father returned to England (never to return) in 1958, by which time the Edwards were living at 11 Arthur Head (presumably what's now known as 11 Captains Lane).
