Baron Albert Karl Buderus von Carlshausen arrived in Fremantle on the Prinz Regent Luitpold in 1899, from Gelnhausen (Germany). According to the Welcome Walls he managed the Bayswater Hotel in 1901 and managed the Star Hotel in Fremantle in 1904.[1] He bought land in Hope Road, Jandakot & ran a piggery there in 1908. There is a street in Atwell named after him. Albert took up farming at Wubin in 1912 & died at Dalwallinu in January 1942.
The street in Atwell is called Carlhausen Close, spelling the name wrongly.
