Captain Albert Ernest Trivett was harbourmaster[1] of Fremantle Harbour from 1945 to 1953. Captains Lane is named in his honour.
His mother was Minnie Trivett (née Hopcroft).[2]
In 1925 he married Gwedoline Patterson,[3] after whom Mrs Trivett Place is named.

Sea Veteran For Kwinana Job
After a seafaring career of 50 years, Fremantle harbourmaster Captain A. E. Trivett will retire on Friday.
He has accepted an appointment with Kwinana Construction Co., and will be. in charge of the company's floating plant.
At the age of 15, Captain Trivett began his career as an apprentice, early in 1903 with Robert Thomas and Co., a firm which his stepfather helped to establish.
He joined the barque Conway Castle, later transferring to the full-rigged ship Marathon. At the end of his apprenticeship, he took up a position as second officer with a salary of £4/15/ a month.
On April 2, 1909, he was ship wrecked in the s.s. Oakbranch when the ship struck an uncharted rock off Cape Hilar, about 19 miles north of the latitude of Heard Island.
He suffered severe privations in an open boat before reaching a lighthouse.
On securing his master's certificate he joined Alfred Holt and Co. and eventually became master of the Gorgon. Soon after the outbreak of World War I he joined the Royal Navy, serving in various classes of ships, including a sailing Q (or mystery) ship.
Captain Trivett was awarded the DSC and mentioned in despatches.
He died iged 83 in 1971.[2]
