17-23 South Terrace is a three-storey commercial building on the corner of South Terrace and Collie Street (and backing on to Essex Lane). It was built in 1895 by John McNeece.[1] Its address numbering has changed over the years, and in some sources is given as 17-25.
It has been home to many businesses over the years, notably Papa Luigi's, the Capri, and the Mexican Kitchen.
In 2013 Lucky Terrace News & Lotto moved from the southern end shop, across to road into Manning Buildings.
This building has two inHerit entries: 997 and 21940.[2] These have been unified on Wikidata.

We're calling this building 'Capri' for convenience, as that's the oldest business still trading there. Another name could be 'Old Papa's' as that coffeeshop on the corner of Collie Street was a Fremantle landmark for decades. It's still a coffeeshop, but probably not nearly as interesting as it was.
