'Cappuccino Strip'

The 'Cappuccino Strip' is a nickname for the section of South Terrace between Bannister and Norfolk Streets – because of the number of cafes with al fresco seating.

Jeff Brockway, the estate agent, told me in conversation, probably in 1995, when he had my house on the market, that it was he who invented the name. He said it as a statement of fact.

It has been picked up to the extent that the Fremantle Council referred to a parking area (further along South Terrace and so not actually on the 'Cappuccino Strip') as the Cappuccino Strip Carpark. (It is now the site of the Police Station.)
